The Village of Fairmont is governed by a Board of Trustees. Municipal officials include five Board of Trustees elected for a four-years term and a Board Chairperson appointed by trustees for a one-years term. The Village office is located at 635 6th Ave., 402-268-3341. Village Board Meetings are the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m..
Fairmont is located in Fillmore County. Fillmore County has 16 townships and is governed by a seven-member Board of Supervisors elected by popular vote for a four year term. The County is Zoned. www.fillmorecounty.org

Fairmont Police Department |
The Fairmont Police Department is a one-man department with Tyler Salmon as the Village Marshal. He has just started with the Village and is excited to be in town. Many calls for service near Fairmont are also handled by the Police Department and the interchange businesses are regularly patrolled. Marshal Salmon also works closely with them Fillmore County Sheriff’s Office, and they in turn help with coverage when needed. The Police Department offices are located at 635 6th Ave. The Police Department vehicle is a 2011 4-wheel drive Chevrolet 1500 Pickup. Along with Marshal Salmon’s police duties, he also helps with the Maintenance Department for the Village of Fairmont whenever they are in need.
